What Upper Limit of Power Do you Prefer On Your Rifle Scope?

I've got a Leupold VX6 in 3x18 w/44mm lens. Its the newer style with 30mm tube and side focus. Boone and Crockett reticle. Like it a lot. Good light gathering qualities and the illuminated reticle should help in really low light situations. I won't use 18x to much unless I've really got a good rest or have my bi pod hooked on but sure will work for spotting far out. The 3 x works well in close in stuff. Not real heavy or bulky for use in a rifle scabbard. Sounds like an advertisement.

It all depends.........

My scoped lever gun has a 2-8 on it. My benchrest gun has a 12-42.

I voted for the 24 and above which I use in comps of many disciplines. For hunting I like either 6-18 or 6.5-20.

I like my upper end variable power 16 to 20
