What do you consider good enough?

I had the best luck with Rl26 and a 215m not the 210 in peterson brass. I ran danzac coating and had 10shot es of 6 and sd running 2. Seating was the biggest change in group not speed. I had run them from 2855-2810 each speed would shoot once I found the seating. 2855 liked to be close .004-.006 to the lands 2840 .010-.012 and 2830 was .019-.021 off. I would see my es grow if I got slower until I was near 2750 and below.
This was winter time shooting not summertime.
The 147 load for me @ 2830 was 2.843-45 46.3Rl26(coated bullet back off uncoated) 215M in peterson 1x fired brass.
RL 16 wouldn't shoot well much fast than 2750 for me2710 was where it was best. i could get within 15fps at the same pressure signs for RL26 though. Rl26 like to run harder than Rl16 in several rifles I tried it in FWIW.
If your rifle will shoot better with the 140 eldm than you need to find out what your rifle likes with the 147. I had 4955 shoot bugholes at 2780. It had es of 11 and sub .5moa out to 500yds(fartherst I shot that load)
I wouldn't give up quite yet on the 147 when you find the load it truly is better in the wind by alot

For PRS competition, IMO, given your SD's are running 5-10, your precision should be sufficient for PRS completion, I have seen match's won by shooters with comparable performance. Casual ELR.....probably OK. As it seems that PRS will be your primary requirement, I would personally be inclined to go with a lighter recoiling 130-140gr load, pursuing the opportunity to further tighten the performance with a bullet change. I doubt you would notice a material difference in your "casual" ELR shooting, when compensating for the difference in wind dope.

So I've been playing with the 147 eld in my 6.5 cm. I'm having a hard time with this bullet getting it to group under .5 moa like my 140 eld-m. I had bought a 500 sleeve so I have a bunch of them to use up. After messing around with different primers, powders, and bullet lengths this is the most consistent load I've got my rifle to shoot this 147. My question is for you guys is do you think these groups are good enough for prs competition and casual long range out to 1500 yards? I strive for perfection so just a hair over .5 moa is hard for me to accept. Think I'll notice the difference between .5 moa and .3 moa? Thoughts? Top group is .010 off the lands and the bottom is .020 off.View attachment 126078 View attachment 126079
Have you tried loading the 140's into the lands?
I shoot 41.5 gr H4350
210m
140 Eld Match 2800fps
.007 into the lands
Shoots 1/2" at 200yds
1-7.5 twist Krieger

Had the same problem with my 224 Valkyrie in a JP SCR-11. Just couldn't get it to group consistently below .5 MOA. Best groups were with DoubleTap's ammo and averaged .78 MOA. I've only shot it to 800 yards but groups are inside of 5", which is slightly better than I expected.

1 MOA or less is fine for PRS type competition! Any mention of Creedmoor and folks loose their ----!
I was out on the 1K line today and put this group on steel with my 6mm Creedmoor 110SMK @ 3053 fps comp gun.View attachment 126117 View attachment 126118
How are you liking the 6mm? When this barrel goes I'm thinking 6mm or 25 creedmoor

Not a big fan of the 147 ELD match could not get a good group in any of the three 6.5 cal I have, the 6.5 Creed liked the 123's but not the 147's, the 26 Nosler strips the copper of (3,543 fps) and have to clean every 2 shots!

I have a 6.5cm and a friend suggested 143 eld-x 41.5 gr. H-4350. CCI-200. 2.8 col. After sighting in@100 yards. My next 2 shots@ 200 yards went into one very small hole. Taking these same components in my tikka t3 lite in.300 wsm155 eld-m ,cci-200 64.0 grains of h-4350 and 2.9" col. @100 yards I put 3 rounds into .153". I have not had a chance to go try again but after the snow melts I will be back at it to see if it is repeatable

The ELDm is an Ok bullet for short range; For my 6.5 long range precision beyond 800 use the MTAC 143gr from Cutting Edge bullets, you will never shoot anything else. The precision on weight, length to ogive and length/100 bullets compared makes Bergers look like lead cast and Bergers are notoriously excellent. On my local range out to 600yds I consistently shoot 1/3MOA. On windy days 10-20mph these bullets will hold to less than 6" of drift at 2880, SD=18, [email protected], Nosler brass, seated 0.10 off lands from my heavy Palma 28" Kreiger barrel.
For hunting the 140gr is wicked accurate, 2910, SD=18, [email protected], my longest yote shot was at 950 yards with wind gusting to 18 at my hide.

you didnt say if you had a target or hunting rifle ! if those are 100 yd groups they are good for a hunting rifle ! as you get to 600 yds and up those groups will open up ! i would be happy with those groups if you have a hunting rifle !
