What do you consider good enough?

I hear some guys are running h4831 with the 147's. I would be tempted to try it. Probably a bit slower FPS tho.

We shot 150 or so of factory rounds on video at around 1100 yards. You could see they fell in two distinct subgroups that were 1/4-1/3 moa. The average of all groups was somewhat over .5 Moa. Weighing the cases afterward showed a 4 grain es with two distinct groups of brass less than +/- 1gr. I'm guessing from two different machines. If you have not already done so, weight sort the brass and the bullets
I'm running peterson brass which is very consistent. The bullets vary .3 grains at the high end.

I'd offer to take them off your hands and make it easy for you but I have a couple 6.5's and it seems they recommend 1-7 or 1-8 barrel for the 147.

Both mine are 1-9's so not going to work.

Hold onto them for a later rifle or sell them and go with 140's if they are workin.

If it was me I'd always feel less than happy at using the less accurate especially if it caused me not to take a shot I'd otherwise have taken.

1 MOA or less is fine for PRS type competition! Any mention of Creedmoor and folks loose their ****!
I was out on the 1K line today and put this group on steel with my 6mm Creedmoor 110SMK @ 3053 fps comp gun. Edit: trued conditions 3262fps, transonic after 845yds for almost 200yds.

So I've been playing with the 147 eld in my 6.5 cm. I'm having a hard time with this bullet getting it to group under .5 moa like my 140 eld-m. I had bought a 500 sleeve so I have a bunch of them to use up. After messing around with different primers, powders, and bullet lengths this is the most consistent load I've got my rifle to shoot this 147. My question is for you guys is do you think these groups are good enough for prs competition and casual long range out to 1500 yards? I strive for perfection so just a hair over .5 moa is hard for me to accept. Think I'll notice the difference between .5 moa and .3 moa? Thoughts? Top group is .010 off the lands and the bottom is .020 off.View attachment 126078 View attachment 126079

Do you have enough twist to stabilize a bullet of that weight?

T what RANGE did u shoot the posted groups? If they're that OPEN at 100 yards, you're NOT in the BALLPARH at 1500. I dont care if they settle down or NOT! NO WAY CONSISTANTLY Friend! You might LUCK OUT and drop 1 in, but not in a COMP. SITUATION!

Personally I shoot as FAR as I can SEE a HOG. If I can't CONSISTANTLY produce a Petload that .100 to .200 MOA I'm just BURNING POWDER & MAKING NOISE!
