What .308 bullets work for you?

I'm assuming that by ".308", you are actually referring to bullets in a .308Win. With that in mind, my answer is: 168gr. Berger VLD all day long.

168 Hybrids at 1K.




The same 168 Hybrids still holds the 1000 yard iron sight service rifle record at Bayou Rifles in Houston. I think it wax 2012 when the Hybrids established the record.

I've used Nosler 168/ 175 Custom Comps, 168/ 175 SMK's, and Berger 168/ 175 VLD's. All worked well. Right now I'm using 168 ELDMs in my old PSS. Hits small Tide bottles at 1100 yards.

I've also had really good luck with 168 grain AMAXes.

Not sure of your exact range needed...But from 600-1000 yards...
I used 168 A-Max ... really good. Then 168 Eld-m ... really good.
Then tried 175 SMK... really good. Then tried the 185 Jugs ... best of all... period.
Please keep in mind... this is only my experience at those ranges.

Another case for 168 Hybrids at 1000. AR10 20 inch barrel, 4.5X March scope, sling, prone. NRA Nationals 1000 yards. The only gas gun in the field of the best bolt gunners in the country.

Wow. One gas gun among them. Must be doing something right! Lots of big names on the list. Who says gas guns don't shoot accurately?
