What .257 bullet are you shooting?

Currently shooting 115 Bergers at 3615 out of my 257 Wby. The high shoulder bang flops are pretty spectacular. :D
Just picked up a box of Barnes 101 LRX to try out. Should scare 3700fps if they don't pressure out first.

115 gr. NBT is the most accurate load I have found out of my .25-06, (handloaded) with Winchester Combined Technology (factory) a close second. Deer can't tell the difference.

Just don`t plan on long barrel life.😂 But yes the impact "whop" on game is very audible at 400 lol
Yes, I figured on a short barrel life. It's definitely a pick one bullet, work up a load quickly and be done with it. I can only imagine that impact sounds like a baseball bat hitting a tree trunk. Definitely know you didn't miss with that kind of report. 😀

Just received 103 HH for my 257bee. Was going to start with H1000. Is there a better choice for that weight? From what I'm concluding on this post, the 1000 may be a little slow for the 103?? Anyone with experience have any thoughts? I'm a 1-9 twist Brux barrel 26 inch. Thanks!!
In my 25-06 ai and 103 hammer hunter I have been using retumbo with very good luck, have no used h1000 yet!

Regular ol 25-06 Rem. I shoot 115gr. Bergers and the 92gr. Hammer Hunters with great accuracy. The 92gr. Hammers at around 3400 fps are bad news for coyotes.

I'm in the process of gathering parts for a .25SST build. I had planned on shooting the heavies, not specifically for their BC. But because I have a good bit H1000. I really like this powder in my 6.5rsaum. But with the shortage of 131 ACEs and 133 Bergen's, I'm looking for options. it has me reconsidering and thinking another 6.5???
I run Speer and Sierra 100gr, 120 grain and 117gr. in my 25-06 Ruger No.1. I use IMR7828 and IMR 4831 for most of my loads, and its minute of prairie dog out to around 450 to 500 yards. I like the 120 and 117 grain bullets for the longer shots. I also use the 75 and 80 grain varmint bullets for shots inside 350 yards, just because they are screamers. All loads shoot inside 1" at 100 yards, and some shoot into 0.5".

I agree with the comment above on the 115 ballistic tips...they did outstanding work for many years on Deer and antelope out of my 25-06. I used the CT version because they look cool, but they are the same thing pretty much. They also make real quick work on coyotes.
I thought the CT version was a little different construction but I see they are not, just lubalox coated, otherwise identical. I was trying the 115BT in my 257wby but they weren't shooting well enough, I did use them in 257 Roberts and took down several deer with them. I shoot 110 ab in the wby.

just shooting a 1-10 twist factory 25-06. On deer Use 120 gr speer spitzer BT because of its .480 b.c. and I hunt in open country. But probably not the best bullet for close in shots under 200 yds. Coyote load is speer 100 gr. Varmint H.P. flat base that the rifle really likes.
