Lucky sob. I saw a couple guys leave with m40a5's while I was over there. Wasn't around ssis long enough to be that lucky.

A5's were a nice setup. Little after my
time. I was in for the later years of the A1 and a litte bit of the first A3's.

I'd have loved to come out of the corps with a rifle. This a build I did a couple years ago. Collected all the parts and sent it to a homie at PWS to build. I have another M40a1 on a forest return stock at GAP right now getting built. Should be ready in March.

Yes Sir, I can sympathize. This particular K-80 was originally given to a squad mate of mine (Craig Kirkman) by Krieghoff. It has the best set of tubes of any gun I've ever seen. Nothing particularly special outside of that.

Will never part with my Browning Tbolt .22 . Bought it with paper route money when I was 14 years old. Rode my bike down to the gun shop and plunked down my $52.50. The owner of the shop asked if he could call my folks,because if they made me take it back he would have to give me used price for it,and he didn't want me to lose any hard earned money. Threw the box over the handle bars, pedaled home,put it in a case and rode my bike out to try it out. He also threw in a brick of Winchester HP ammo.

47 year-old Winchester 94 30-30. Parents got it for x mas when I was 13. Bluing is more brown than blue, varnish is worn off stock and forend. But still groups about 1.5" at 100yds with Williams peep sight. Smooth as butter. And a Ruger No.1 in 30-06 my Grandmother bought me right before she died.

Single Six convertible, still has the box and paper work where he bought it from the PX on the Naval air station in Memphis. Cost $72.28 . Retired from Marine Corp . tour of Korea, two tours of Vietnam. Three purple hearts. Bronze star. Greatest man I've ever met.

What's the one gun in your stable you'd never part ways with? Family heirloom, first build, killed your personal best, won competitions, most accurate etc. What's your number one ? What's it chambered in and what's it mean to you?

Bought a Browning A-Bolt chambered in 30-06 back in the mid 80s. I gave it to a guy as collateral while I borrowed his truck. The rifle's cost was similar to what I was going to pay him for the truck's use. When I brought the truck back, I found out he had already sold my rifle to another fella. I never got around to replacing it.

Unfortunately, that's the rifle I would never part ways with. Any other firearm I've ever paid for is a keeper too. So my answer is: All of them. I can't pick just one. ETA: My favorite is the Benelli M2.

Winchester 30/30 (1952), my dad's that is now in my son's gun safe.

Savage 750C humpback that was my Uncle's that first took me deer hunting.
