Yeah the 156 was not the best choice but we wanted to test it. 2 shots. 1 broadside and complete pass. 2nd shot was front quartering and desire to put the big bull down as fast as possible. Bullet enter front of the shoulder and ended at far side rib. Shed almost 100 grains.Wow, a 156 EOL Berger? I would have guessed a controlled expansion/mono metal. But, like always, shot placement trumps displacement.
If I'm ever lucky enough to get a buffalo tag, planned to use my 300 PRC with a mono metal. Or, finally justify my hankering for a 375 ruger just because
