Very interesting and encouraging! Thanks for the post.......Rich
how does the rangefinder compare to a terrapin? This looks very interesting!
it can't
it can't
....small low reflectivity (20%) targets...
Doc, are there some sort of standardized test targets or targeting procedures for testing rangefinders?
What would be typical of a "small low reflectivity (20%) target"?
20% of what?
Thanks!
Robert

But at least it can be fixed. It seems it is cost prohibitive to get the Terrapins worked on
it can't
Yes:
1) 2.5'x2.5' 12% Reflectivity.
2) 2.5'x2.5' 20% Reflectivity.
3) 2.5'x2.5' 50% Reflectivity.
4) 7.5'x7.5' 20% Reflectivity.
These are the targets used in the Lab. In the book the results were published for 2, 3, & 4.
The lighting conditions were also measured, and standardized. This gives you an idea of what to expect for different conditions.
1) -5 dB (Direct Sunlight)
2) 0 dB (Daylight)
3) +3 dB (Dawn/Dusk)
I'm not bummed out now I didn't pick up a Terrapin, I know of three now that have taken a dump and what repair options there are cost more than they are worth. It's starting to look like there is a new go to rangefinder!
