Rich, which cartridge will be the first to have fully formed, headstamped brass,
With correct neck size.?
7mm, 300, or 338 ?

O can run 180 Bergers at 3100+ With N570 but its pretty compressed185 CEBs are HARD on brass at 3020 from a 26" with RL26. These are bore riders so pressure is far less than would be with a lead core. Can't get enough N570 in to overcome the RL26
Likely 300?Rich, which cartridge will be the first to have fully formed, headstamped brass,

I concur, you can't out physics physics!! If you want more velocity, shoot a 6.5 300.WSM Capacity exactly. The WSM accuracy node will not run 3k period. I love the case but keep it real. 83 grains will NOT reliably push a 215 3k without trashing the best brass available. These types of claims are why some hate the creedmoor. You can not out physics physics.
Love my 7 max too but it will NOT do what some internet ninjas claim.
I love wildcats. I love wildcatting. I love pushing the envelope. I love having fire formed improved brass but we need to be real.
I couldn't agree more. And along with that, just because a round is smokin hot does NOT mean that it's going to shoot well!WSM Capacity exactly. The WSM accuracy node will not run 3k period. 300WM performance in a mid length action. Sounds interesting. I like the sound of that 7mm pushing a 195 @3050-3100 in a 3.3 length cartridge.Ive been thinking about this for a while now and decided to " pull the trigger" so to speak. I wanted to design a cartridge which would be hard to beat in 1000 yard bench and also be a hard hitting long range hunting choice. Well, the mid length 300 Mega it is.
With the mid length actions becoming popular And offering performance near the big capacity cases, Ive designed a case that is 2.150", holds 83 grains h20, has a . 342" long neck, and will run 3000-3050' with a 215 Berger on a std . 535" bolt. I should have brass, dies, and reamers by summer and plan on testing a 7 mm version in a couple months. There will also be a 338.
The 7 should push a 195 to 3050-3100 and the 338 a 250 Berger at 3000 at max.
Good luck with that!300WM performance in a mid length action. Sounds interesting. I like the sound of that 7mm pushing a 195 @3050-3100 in a 3.3 length cartridge.
This is a whole other topic. Most bullets are more accurate at 2850-2950. Case capacity and efficiencies have a huge effect on this.210vlds going 2850fps from a wsm still winning at Williamsport. I shoot one also but I'm switching to a 7 for the bc advantage. I also run a 6.5creed in my 17 pounder and it shoots 147eldms at 2975fps all day long with great brass life. Long barrels and rl26 the speed is there. My wsm has a 34 inch 1.450 barrel and I still shoot it in the 2850 range. It will go 3000 but they shoot unbelievable at the slower speed. At 100 yards mine shoots as good as any 6ppc I have ever owned.

Pretty sure he stated 86 not 83. Someone else stated 83 grains. Either way, time will tell. Nobody is going to blow up. Good thing YOU have a clue, cause I'm not sure we'd survive without your concern. There's a few hot rod loaders in every group. Don't make it sound like everyone here on this thread are extreme speed demons only looking for maximum speed and disregarding safety. We all want best performance and safety combined. When some one states 3100, I'm pretty sure 3000 will be the reality and more than likely better accuracy velocity will be lower and up too 3000. It's definitely an interesting cartridge and one to look forward to seeing develop. Safety is always first in this game.A 83 grain H20 case is NOT going to push 195s 3050 at a safe pressure in a 26" barrel period. It amazes me how many of you are so close to loosing fingers, eyes, or your life and you have NO CLUE!
Some of these pressures are insane. It the field one extra screw up, dirt, etc and BOOM!
