Sherman light (not for drinking)

This should be a new thread. It is a subject I have pondered for years.
There might be a simple answer to why we mostly use right hand twist.
Or we might be using right hand twist because that's what is what we beleive we have to use.

Seems to me it would pretty much take care of the coriolis in these parts:D

It's easy to make a right hand twist barrel because it's how machinists think with traditional right hand threads. My guess is it started that way and just stuck because nobody questioned it...

Left twist used to be more popular back in the creedmore days in black powder rifles, we've lost a lot of long range shooting know how that were relearning.

Got the main ingredient in today. Now all I need is the reamer in a couple weeks.

I was wondering is there any special care or precautions for a titanium action compared to a standard one? I love this build. Coming along good.

None that I am aware of? They are super hard besides being light. The bolt is melonited so it slides like butter. The TI can be sticky feeling otherwise. Just waiting for my new carbide reamer and we will get this bad boy going!.......Rich

Having been in the market for a Ti action for a while I did some research.
Talked to a number of people and the one thing that was conveyed to me multiple times was lifetime accuracy. 2 dissimilar metals will have a reaction over time. The softer of the 2, usually the bolt lugs in a Ti action, will be the first to give way. Causing groups to open over time.
Ti is great for a rig that shoots a couple hundred rounds in its life but for a rig that shoots a lot could be another thing.
Rich will let us know. I am sure.

Well, my bolt is nitrided so it should be able to take the abuse:D Lone Peak is nitriding ALL there bolts now, so I hope it won't even be an issue......Rich
