Can anyone help with the size and length required for the roll pin that retains the ejector on a Bergara B14 Hunter? Or maybe point me in the right direction?
Good idea. Why don't I ever think of simple things like that?If you lost it, use a drill bit set to figure out the dia. Length should be easy.
Should the roll pin be slightly over-sized?1/8" is the common size across all manufacturers for roll pins, however, there are exceptions to this.
As stated above, use a gauge type drill bit set to determine size.
Cheers.
Well yes, so it is not loose in its hole. It normally has between .002" to .004" interference.Should the roll pin be slightly over-sized?
Yes, but they are sized by the hole size. For example, I think the ejector roll pin in my Tikka measured 2.7mm, but is a size 2.5mm.Should the roll pin be slightly over-sized?
Roll pins are often called tension pins and should be an interference fit. That's why they are split and have tapered ends. A starter punch is always a good idea (punch with a hole in the business end that fits the pin) followed by a roll pin punch. Keeps from buggering up or spreading the end of the pin you are beating on. Find the right size with a set of numbered drill bits.Should the roll pin be slightly over-sized?
Thank you.Here you go... https://www.bergara.online/en/exploded-maps/
