Rifle cartridge build ideas?

One more idea would be to try IMR4198 with 110-120gr bullets in either a 7/08 or 7x57. My light 308 Win load uses IMR4198/39.5grs & 125BT and goes 2960 avg.

PM me and I can send what old Dupont/IMR load data is for either 7/08 or 7x57 if your interested.

New rifle /cartridge is NICE too!

Thanks. I like shooting my 7x57, I'm just being difficult for something new.

Understand , we are blessed to have benefit of full machine shop to build our own. All it takes is barrel, reamer, and go gauge :)

Here you go 7mm Titus (70-80 year old Creedmoor Design ) . Case design by Bill Titus long ago. Hope you can see picture good enough.

That's pretty impressive. What's the GT parent case? I did find a set of dies for the 7mm Talbot, a 1.75 inch 308 case blown out and necked. The reamer would be a special order. A rougher and a finisher would run 320.00 and for the GT you could use existing gauges and dies.
Not sure but there was a lot of information on accurate shooter .i can order a reamer from Manson. I am thinking about a used savage to try it after finish with the project I am working on now

Looks like it started with 6x47 but it is the same velocity as my 6mm creedmoor with less powder easy to tune es is low. Will that work with 120-140 7mm Bullets? I think it will and I only want it to shoot 200-300 yards at paper and drag it around the woods.

I remember when I first came across the 6.5x47 Lapua. I looked through an old Speer manual and the dimensions were very similar to the 7IHMSA. I think it actually mentioned a 6.5IHMSA.

There is 7mm SAW too. Looks simple and effective.

I read up on the SAW last night. The IHMSA came in 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30 cal. I'd do the IHMSA if I could acquire a reamer. I guess either way I'm going to have to shell out for a custom reamer.

I feel dirty for saying it, BUT.... 7mm creedmoor? Less than 7-08 and lots of brass availability
edit: ever consider a 7mm IHMSA?
Ok, I settled on the IHMSA because I found dies and reamers and brass pretty reasonably. Almost everything I got off of LRH. I'm halfway down this rabbit hole and cant back out now. Barrel comes in a couple weeks. I'll blame you if it's a dud. Lol

I formed a 7mm IHMSA case in my new dies from a 300 savage case. Single pass after annealing. It really looks like a 7mm Creedmoor. The loaded 7 IHMSA on the left with a Creed on the right. The bullet is a Sierra 150gr match BTHP #1915. It fits perfectly in a AICS mag with room to spare. It appears easy to form from 22-250, Creedmoor or any .308 based cartridge (i.e. readily available brass sources)

It's a hair bigger than I wanted. Range time will tell me what she'll do.
