I just picked up some 88 ELDMs and I'd like to run them in my 22-250 AI. I've got a pile of H4831 and I'd like to work up a load. Haven't found any data with this bullet.

Nosler has data with their 85 grain in the standard 22-250 showing a max of 39 grains. Anyone have any experience with this powder and bullet in the 22-250AI. I've done a lot of forum searching and it seems like the data and charges are all over the place.

I run the 88's in my 22-250AI, but I mostly use 7828SSC and H4350.

If no one has any good data, I would start with the max load you listed in the standard 22-250 for the 85's and work up from there. It should not take long to find a good load for velocity/pressure.

Sierra app, 90 gr SMK (close enough to 88s).

FWIW, the 88s shot really well with RL-23 in my 22-250 AI.

Thanks for the data. Several of your posts got me interested in those 88 ELDM's. Looks like it's a good combo for deer and coyotes. I've been out coyote hunting and it's been so windy I started looking at bullets with the highest BC.

I have a 7" twist 22-250AI. Whenever I can't find the exact load for a bullet, I always look at similar weights and use that data as my start point.
I have no data on H4831, as I do not use it, but I run Nosler CC & RDF in the 80g+ range, I either use H4350 or Supreme 780. We shoot wild dogs here with those, or the odd fox.

Cheers.

Did some testing today with H4831 and the 88 eldm in my 22-250 AI. No pressure signs at 39.9 grains so I think I'll keep going to find max. Didn't bring the chronograph with but based on the first testing I think I'll find something that will shoot pretty well. My barrel is 26" so I should be able to get at least to 3100 fps based on the Sierra data Waspocrew provided.

I run 40.2 4831sc in my 22 creed with 88 eldms @ 3150 in 26" barrel. I had a good node at 3250, but had a few jackets separate. Dropped down to 3150 and has a good node and no jacket separation. 7.5 twist barrel.
