Rifle cartridge build ideas?

Ok, I settled on the IHMSA because I found dies and reamers and brass pretty reasonably. Almost everything I got off of LRH. I'm halfway down this rabbit hole and cant back out now. Barrel comes in a couple weeks. I'll blame you if it's a dud. Lol
Been curious about this cartridge but never built one. Cant wait to see your results!

Somehow I ended up with some RCBS dies for this and didn't even know what it was until this thread. I had assumed it was something based on the .30-30 case given it's intended use and Contenders being the dominate (?) choice at those events.

Now I'm thinking that I've got this SA action that it could work in........

Since you obviously like to tinker and consider the 7mm-08 too big, you really have a single choice to push 140's as fast as you like; the 7BR Improved!

Well I'm on the road and the preliminaries are really promising. I've only tried one load of each bullet weight. The case is only filled to just below the shoulder with H322 powder so I believe theres a lot of room to grow.

33.5 gr of H322 10 shot average with Magnetospeed.
140gr Nosler BT. 2643fps
150 Sierra HPBT Match 2654fps
160 Sierra Gameking. 2606fps

36 gr of H322 10 shot average
110 gr Speer TNT. 3010fps

Sub half MOA with the 160 grain bullets and 3/4 MOA with 150s. The 140s and 110s and 120s (i didnt chrono the 120s) were terrible, as in 3 inch groups. I havent even tried new powders, seating depths, brass sorting etc yet. I'm trying to formulate the best process to save time and primers of course for round two of testing. I did acquire a box of 162gr Eld-X I'm dying to try out. If at all possible to reach 2700fps with them the paper ballistics are really really impressive with its .616 bc.

I also only had an older Redfield 6x18 with a duplex that isnt super clear but I now have a better scope to mount up.
