after shooting my 6.5 PRC with max loads the cases will be longer than the specs call for. The book says 2.030", some may be 2.033" or 034". How much do you trim back?

SAMMI says 0.020", but I think most folks trim back 0.01" (2.02") after fl sizing.

I would get a chamber length Guage from Sinclair so you know it's length. Save a lot of trimming and cut down on space for carbon to build up. My experience has been that almost all chambers are longer than what the books call for. Only cost a couple bucks.

Especially if it is a non-factory chambers

That's an interesting idea but will most borescopes reach the chamber if inserted at the muzzle?

Yowzaaa - that's quite a bit longer then the Lyman I've had for the last several years. Good to know.

Oh yeah it's long enough, it'll also go out the muzzle from the back of the action on a 26" barrel. One of the best purchases I've made.

Everyone of my rifles I've checked has a generous amount of length in the chamber for the case neck to grow.Here is an example of an empty full length case chambered in one of my rifles.I full length size and trim for case consistency everytime and because it's so easy to do with my Frankford Arsenal Trim and Prep Center.I used to worry if a case went just a tad above max,but the borescope proves it wouldn't have been an issue.

Based on a recent sneak peek of my chamber I found that the junction that you pictured above was filled with carbon. What a horror show trying to get it out. One thing I did learn was that just reducing it helped return the rifle's accuracy. I think I'd need a reamer to get it all out.
