I have primers from the 50's, probably not stored in the best manner, but I've not gotten around to trying any. Some are in the wooden tray types, w-w, some Alcan. Might make for some interesting chrongraphing.
I used to but my current situation has changed. So I'm more depleting my current stock rather than resupplying.i look at these threads as the combined primer availabilty being depleted little by little . sure , shoot the old ones first , but not until youve replaced with new ones ... but not to shoot if they are your only ones
does everyone keep a standing inventory ??
Awesome !A few of the old ones I have sitting around... I've shot some very old primers in the past and never had a problem with them as long as they were stored properly, otherwise I'm sure they might not have worked as well, as they did.

I try to keep at least a couple thousand primers on hand for any variety I use and a year's worth (or more) of ammo loaded for anything I own. I'm below 2K on small pistol mag at present but have a feeler out with a ffl who won't rape my wallet when/ if they show up. I'm not interested in paying triple a year ago to re-supply.i look at these threads as the combined primer availability being depleted little by little . sure , shoot the old ones first , but not until youve replaced with new ones ... but not to shoot if they are your only ones
