That's funny. Clinton panic was when I ran almost out and couldn't find any primers. I said never again and stocked up. I still have primer from then and mid 70's.
yup, but I also made $4.50 an hour when primers were a buck a box, so adjusted they really aren't off base even at $60 a brick The hundred+ they want lately though is a bit absurd. When I see old price tags on some of my bullet boxes, primers and powder containers I get a chuckle but it's sad though. I have some from 1975 when I started . 100 primers for .79 - .99 cents .
I was kinda just thinking of the old days. Miss them. I understand what your saying though. I remember at 18 yrs. and older starting out. On rainy days I'd get a lot of loading done. I'd catch up on loading 22-250 and 7 Rem. mag. Then I'd power load on 45acp , 223 and 308. If I ran out of primers, cases, bullets or powder I'd drive down to LGS and get more and start up again. Was more fun back then. To me. I was making $2.50 working at a Gas Station. Lol !yup, but I also made $4.50 an hour when primers were a buck a box, so adjusted they really aren't off base even at $60 a brick The hundred+ they want lately though is a bit absurd.
Those were the days!Gonna load up some 7mm mag Norma brass to fire form and pulled these out of a storage box. I bet they all go bang

Oh man ! That's pretty cool. I'd had a hard time shooting them and not saving ...Up in the attic I have lots of Dad's old ammunition from the '40's. Those old 3" Nitro Express Remington 12 ga shells never fail, but Man, they really give me a headache and like to send me to the chiropractor. Too bad they're all lead shot. Eh, save them for coyotes in his old Heavy Duck Mdl-12.
You have me beat. I have 24k. Geez ! Is there a limit like powder ? Some guy on this site quoted me on limits of powder in Wy.. He was a newbie from Kalifornia. I refrained from going off on him only because I escaped that state . I still don't see why he would print the states limits. I'm still debating spanking him...I got all my Clinton era primers from CCI. No failures to date. I think I have 30k primers, various sizes, std and mag. Thanks Bill!
The Alcan small pistol bricks were even smaller. Long story, but one of the LGS in my home town sold a ton of Alcan components.Ever see these before ? Look how small the brick of Alcan primers is.
