The only FTF (Failure To Fire) I have ever had was with Rem 9 1/2 mag primers. I have had quite a few. That is why I will only use them to fire form brass.
I don't normally touch primers by hand. But it never concerns me if I do. If one hits the floor, I pick it up without a thought.
