OK, My turn on the 6.5 Creedmoor

My Creed has sparkles coming off it like Tinkerbells wand, my powder RL26 is made with pixie dust and unicorn horn giving me velocity of 2900 fps with my magic bullet that works from 2900 to 1300 fps! ‍♀️ ⚡️Mud seriously I cant explain it, we have 3 CM in the family all shoot anything we load or buy better than anything else Ive ever had! And I have had many calibers but never had 3 different guns shoot this good of the same caliber! I think it might partly be the fact guns now are just built to better specs and more accurate at this time along with the ammo! 6.5 CM is a very nice shootable cartridge and makes me smile every shot! When people cant explain how and why its so accurate, they resort to calling it magic! ‍♀️♂️

Ha ha.. I was just going to respond that the only ones calling the cartridge magical were the CM/Hornaday Marketing haters... . and you had to ruin it .. by being a CM afficinado saying it is magic... I love it!

Yup the ol creed is like dating an extremely heavy chick! Its all good to your friends find out! Unless your are one the multicam bedazzled, plate carrier wearing range goers and then well you will fit in just fine!
I think from muds animosity, that fat girl must've broke mud's heart.

And coop stole her away...:D

Inherent Accuracy, no inherent accuracy seems to be the question here.
There is nothing magical about the 6.5CM, just better quality components today than 15 years ago.
To me it is the efficiency and balance of a design and a testament of the quality of BBL's, powders, and Bullets just to name a few.
For one I am happy to see the 6.5CM get the attention, but it does nothing the 6.5x55 Swede does not do, like I have said the Swedes had it figured out in 1891.
You can have the most accurate rifle in the world but if the shooter can not drive the bullets where they need to go it may shoot like a scatter gun.
I have been shooting the 6.5x55 since the 80's and come to know and understand their limits.
My 6.5 CM will shoot into .3's with factory ammo with about 12 SD, my 7 STW will shoot .5's with an SD of 8.
I am not the best shot in the west by any means but I can drive the bullets with in reason to the TGT.
I believe there is to much time reading hype about this caliber or that one and not enough time pulling triggers.

Things like inherent accuracy and smooth shooting = low recoil. When you take the flinch from recoil and excessive noise (from a brake) out of the discussion, a cartridge could be inherently more accurate. It seems inherent accuracy is always thrown around with mild recoiling cartridges that are fun to shoot - 6.5 creedmoor, 243, 22-250 etc. where people aren't worried about the noise or recoil and can focus on the fundamentals of making a good shot.

Exactly, but that still doesn't mean the cartridge is "inherently accurate". It just means it's easier and more pleasant to shoot on a fundamental level, so subconsciously a younger or less-experienced shooter is going to shoot better with something along those lines, and not be as likely to flinch or get target panic.

I agree - but I think that is the cause of confusion.

There is no such thing as accurate cartridges. Only precise loaded ammunition, and accurate rifles to shoot it out of.

One can argue the theoretical ceiling in a perfectly tuned load for all cartridges is relatively high, next to impossible to determine, and thus "the same".

However in a practical/real world scenario you've got people shooting one hole groups with a zero workup fireforming load for a 6mm BRA. Loads literally just meant to work brass and you've got professional shooters saying they would run it in a match. You don't see that with something like a 6mm remington. Of course you can make a hammer out of both.

Is the effort involved and wiggle room in load development the same?
