Thank you, I was certainly impressed with the performance. I wasn't sure which weight would be best so I went with the old 400gr standby to be safe.I personally like the idea of lighter in the 45-70 to get the impact velocity higher. I think you might have seen a bit better penetration. All in all though the big heavy did is job. Congrats on a great bison done with great tradition! Glad we could be a part of it.
The guide was so impressed he asked if I could load him some for his 1895 Guide gun. He carries it as back up in case they are charged and a headshot is needed so I was debating if I would be better off dropping down to the 300gr or 350gr for the short 18.5" barrel.
