Official Hammer bullets Terminal Performance (picture heavy)

Shot a nice buck in Montana last week with the 7mm Sherman Max, pushing the 131 Hammer Hunter at 3470 FPS muzzle velocity. Distance was 270 yards, I'm guessing impact velocity around 2800 fps. He was slightly quartering to, the entry in front of left shoulder was the size of a softball and destroyed the shoulder joint. One of the petals took a hard right turn and opened up the abdomen on exit. Blood trail was massive, but not needed .

Meat loss from bruising/bloodshot damage was minimal.

This is a little late, shot this buck at 40 yards with the 172gr AH out of my 7mag. MV of 3,115.
He was slightly quartering to me. Impact was point of his shoulder and exit was about mid rib.
When I skinned him a chunk of lung about 4" fell out of the ENTRANCE hole. His vitals were shredded. Somehow this buck ran about 20 yards before he tumbled down the mountain a bit.
The pic is the entrance side with the shoulder removed.

That's good to hear about the Badlands because I have some inbound to try out in 125 grain 6.5mm and 175 grain + 150 grain .308.

I also have some more 109 & 123 grain Hammer Absolutes inbound to continue testing in the Grendel, 6.5x47, 260AI & 6.5-284.
How have your 308 Win loads worked out, both with the hammers and the bulldozers? I've been impressed with the 151 abs hammers in a 18" 308 but am always curious so I had to ask. I'd have PM'd ya but apparently I don't have the requisite number of posts yet. :)

Unfortunately I've not been able to try out either on game yet.

My daughter shot her buck Friday with the loads I had loaded up for antelope. She was shooting 70gr Hammer Hunters out of her .243 at 3600 fps. The deer was a decent bodied deer, maybe 160 dressed. She hit it square in the shoulder. The deer ran maybe 30-40 yards. The bullet did not exit and there was no blood. We have about 10" of snow so the short track wasn't a big deal. The shot placement was good, the lungs and top of the heart were destroyed, cavity filled with blood. The HH worked great, however I do think with the 70gr projectile it would be better to hold behind shoulder for a complete pass through. My daughter was very happy with the results!

Wanted to add, very close shot on this, 40 yards so impact velocity was still around 3500 I would guess.

Congrats

I took 3 deer in N. Carolina with the 124 Hammer @ 3,200 ft/sec from a 6.5PRC rifle. The first 2 deer dropped on the spot, one at 90yds and the other at 250yds.
The 3rd deer was shot quartering away at 245yds. Hit half way up along the last rib and exited low just behind the font leg. That deer ran nearly 100yds through thick cover but left a blood trail that was impossible to miss. I believe that is a piece of heart muscle that is still attached and just left of the exit hole.

Nice buck! Love those whitey's.

How far did he run?

No decent exit pictures, but I shot a decent whitetail this last Saturday (11/13).

Bullet is the 139gr Absolute out of my 270 Win 1-7 twist. MV is 3140FPS.

Shot was ~60 yards slightly quartering away, entered right behind the shoulder at heart height, and exited with a 3-4" exit through the off-side leg. Literally big enough for me to fit my fist in. There was nothing left of the heart. Needless to say he didn't go far.

Our 9 day Wisconsin rifle season opened today, I was fortunate to get a shot on a nice buck this morning. Had to rush the shot a little as he was on the move. This was with a 300 win Mag shooting the 178 grain absolute hammer at about 3280 FPS. Range was about 120 yards.

Blood and bits of lung at point of impact:

Blood trail (only 40 yards) was very easy to follow:
