What cartridge are you going to use?

I believe 300 Norma. With a Rock 1-8 5R twist....etc...

For that cartridge, I'd use a BAT HR action. I'd also have the barrel made with a breech diameter of 1.30 inches.

I have a Borden Timberline and love it. I based my purchase on an article I read on this forum by Kirby Allan ( I think it was anyway ). He had measured a few of the Rem clone Actions and said the Borden was the best of those he had.
Would not have a Lawton free of charge.

Look at the Bighorn action. It was recommended to me by my smith and I'm certainly not dissapointed.
