My thoughts on solid copper bullets and in comparison to other bullet types.

Congrats on what sounds like some great hunts.

One thing I wanted to note is shot placement is always extremely important. I will say that in your examples, shot placement was great and a huge reason for the results you got. That, matched with the bullet obviously. I wouldn't want an illusion to be created though that the bullet alone did all the magic. In all of the examples but one, if I'm correct in thinking, were shots into the base of the neck with quartering-to shots. So the bullet went right into the brachial plexus and shut down the CNS, dropping them, then the bullet went straight through all the vitals after that. If I'm honest, I'd certainly hope it did well with those shot placements lol

Either way, it's great feedback and I will be sure to put it in my notes. Thank you for sharing!
No illusions just my results. I'm impressed by the amount of penetration

It would be nice to hear some experiences with the super bulldozers. I was really wanting to try some in my 22 creedmoor but got steered away. Some accuracy problem they were working on. I'm interested to hear how they perform at different speeds and distance

There is no substitute for a real-world experience. "I" synthesize the information being presented to me, and "I" do not let naysayers influence my decision-making, but that's just me.

Well, it was just the 22 caliber and it was on the bulldozer thread. It's been a while back and I never heard anything else on the matter. Your exactly right though. I should call them and see

I had a conversation with their main bullet designer and as of now, they're still a design that works best above 2200fps for best results. The amount of expansion and wounding takers off dramatically after around that velocity.

In this first pic, this is at 1700fps impact velocity. The below picture has the velocity labeled.

To me, they're decent, but not as good as something like a Maker T-Rex.

If my memory is correct, it had something to do with the bent tips and hard to be straight on the tiny bullets. They were rolling them on a flat surface and could see the wobble

Yes, there was a hiccup in production of those bullets ~7-9 months ago. Some out-of-spec copper received from a supplier. That issue was resolved quite some time ago. At least 6 months ago...

Ah the first time I've seen anyone mention out of spec copper

How is this as all monos are the same right

Keep delving people & then you will find out exactly why hammers are not your average mono bullet

This is not having a go @ anyone especially you petey308 & I am definitely no expert
Just thorough

Cheers

I feel like it should have been pretty clear by now that all monos are indeed not the same, however they do have a lot of the same characteristics. I'm thorough too snd try not to make broad claims such as to say they're all the same.

You act as though you're holding back in a lot of your posts, Fordy. It feels like you're testing us by your tone. Feel free to pour out what you have. I think we're all here to learn. I'm not an expert either.
