The reticle started tilting while mounted on my 9.5 lb .338 Norma. The scope was moving to the rear while bedded in the DNZ mount, so I pinned a rail to my action, got two sets of Vortex precision (seekins) rings, and put it in three rings, with the rings bedded to the rail, with the rings pushed to opposing lugs, as suggested by Kirby Allen. Well, the scope stopped moving in the rings, but the reticle began tilting very obviously and POI was shifting. Sent it back to them, gotta say other than the ridiculous wait for the scope to get through customs, the actual customer service from Deon optical group was great. Got my scope back today, with just the cost to send it to them, with a repair report that reads:
March 2.5x-25x52 Serial No.**** had inspection through collimator by our experienced engineers. During our inspection as you mentioned we recognized that the reticle is tilting. Therefore we have readjusted the reticle and glued it firmly. Other inspections showed good result and no POA shift have occurred. Your scope was thoroughly checked, and Argon filled after final inspection. This scope has been returned to factory setting. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We hope the scope gives you many years of good service and enjoyment.
So I'm gonna try it on this rifle, much less recoil to start, plus it won't be shot braked, so it won't have the duel recoil similar to a spring piston air rifle seen on these large light magnums with effective brakes.
Yes I was curious,as mine is not as clear as I think it should be past 20,nothing like my Mark 5.But dont know if i want to hassle with it.Plus dont know if they could do anything anyway . Mines held in oversized screws,pinned rail,built that way on my Defiance and NF ultrlights. I also rolled and they wanted to total my jeep,rifle got tossed around good on that deal.

Update! I have all components minus the barrel and a magazine. Weight of the full chassis, action, optic and rings is 5 lbs 11.5 oz.
From a thread on snipers hide, I saw a 23", #4 carbon Bartlein, 7mm bore, chambered in 7mm-08, with no muzzle threading was 2 lbs 12 oz., my original estimate for mine was 2 lb 10 oz, but I think it will be lighter than that by a little bit. My barrel is the same contour, but only 20", has a 30 cal bore, will have a larger chamber, and muzzle threading. I know it is mostly minor changes, but it adds up. My estimated installed barrel weight is about 2 lbs 6ish oz give or take? Not sure how much 3" of carbon wrapped barrel, .308 diameter x.012" wall thickness x 20" long of bore steel, about .59"x .53" cylinder of chamber steel, and the muzzle threading will add up to? My guess is roughly 6 oz ha ha.
Add in a 5 round magazine, which is roughly 7.5 oz.....and that puts the finished rifle at about 8 lbs 9 oz. Add my 11 oz can, and all up minus ammo is 9 lb 4 oz in an awesome, compact folding package!
Got my dies delivered too, a Redding type S neck bushing die, body die, and seater. I will be using ADG brass. Anyone know what neck bushing sizes are needed for this brass? I would like to have two or three to test, with like .001", .002, and .003" neck tension.

While my knowledge is not no where near on your level about long range shooting. I just have to ask why not let denfensive edge build you a rifle? I'm really impressed with there LRKM platform. There's a way to have proper barrel length in a compact design.

"Proper" barrel length is really subjective. Also, show me an LRKM that is 9 lbs wearing a supressor......I have a specific set of requirements for my build, and I have yet to see another avenue to reach it ha ha

I will say though, the LRKM's are pretty sweet rigs. If I build another big .338 where I would want a 28-30" barrel, and weight isn't a consideration, if funds allow, they are definitely a direction I would consider!

My thinking would be to lengthen the barrel to 26 inch using a carbon barrel, and put it in a lrkm platform. Not sure if he would build it in a 30 nosler? but I bet it would be a light compact hammer. Either way I my opinion is only another man's idea. I'm looking forward in see your finished project.

Ya, but even then, it would be way too heavy. I pack in up to 5-6 miles on foot at times, and have everything on my back to stay 3-6 days at times. I have spent a lot of money getting a light pack, seek outside tent, light sleeping pad, light bag, ultralight stove and just one fuel canister and a lot of powdered, just add cold water meals, and everything else that goes with it, a 12-14 lb rifle is just too much. I have all the plans and components listed to build a sub 6 lb loaded ready to hunt rifle, the only reason this build isn't that, is because I want to have a rifle that "I" can comfortably shoot out to 1000 yards or more. For me, that is around 9 lbs, much lighter and shooting accurately at that range in the field gets more complicated. As I said, I have a very specific set of requirements, the LRKM does not meet that, unless they found a way to take off a lot of weight from their chassis system.

Cody, you are likely very very close on barrel weight. That 7mm08 is Oregonmuley's, I have known him for years. One difference is he had Shaen shorten the shank to drop a bit of weight. So if you're not going to short shank it, your weight may be higher.
