Mountain rifle - build or buy?

Steyr Scout? I went that route until wife used it once... I loved that rifle. I got tired of getting dicked around by my "smith/scammer" on a 280 AI build and bought a Scout in 7mm-08. Amazing rifle with features surpassed by none.

Wow! I've never see a rifle quite like that before. Pretty nifty!

I had to look it up. The guy on the youtube video does a good job of explaining the concept but I don't agree where he expains it would be more useful in a place like Africa. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be useful to most any american deer hunter. Seems in would be awesome in the 7-08 for short and midrange deer hunting.

I have my scope traditionally mounted. The forward mount just doesn't feel right to me. I have multiple Steyr rifles, pistol and an AUG. ALL shoot Amaizing. The scout doesn't shoot bug holes necessarily as the others can but well at or under MOA with load development.

I've never been a fan either of scout type scope mounting. I see it's usefullness with dangerous game but not so much otherwise.
