Moving from 6.5 PRC to 300 PRC

If you want a 300PRC then get one. EasyPeasy. You're going to get a bunch of people telling you to buy something else but if your asking for a opinion on the 6.5PRC vs 300PRC, and you have remorse over the 6.5PRC purchase, then get yourself the 300PRC. I shoot both and both are awesome performers. I think I've seen 10-15 posts of people telling you to buy something different but that doesn't answer your question. More and more brass is coming available for the PRCs now that Lapua and Peterson are making it. Ammo is starting to recover and I saw it on the shelf at a LGS 2 weeks ago for $53 a box. Anyways…. Good luck!

Preach!

Again, exactly where I'm falling. Gotta find a buyer for a precision 6.5 now hahaha.

It may be but at nowhere near the ranges of a 300PRC is effective.
A beard is about the only hair I can grow now days.
No 6.5's in my stable.
none in mine either. I do shoot a 35 Whelen, which will shoot accurately out to about 1,000 yards, though. It has more impact than my 300 Win Mag at 600 and beyond using a 250 grain Speer. Bullet diameter and mass make a big difference.

My 300PRC is built on the following and it is the best LR Hunting Rifle that I ever purchase. Scope is a Zeiss Conquest V6 3-18x50 ZMOA-2 Reticle BDC Turret - 30mm

Ok, I'm sorry but when they look that nice I'm a little reluctant to drag them through the brush holes that I hunt. Man that's a beautiful rifle

Post it up and it'll sell fast here depending on what it is.
Gotta wait until I'm out of new member double secret probation…but it's a beautiful MPA built gun.

I have one and really like it. It's pretty popular though and when the correct components appear, buy them. I'm running 245 bergers with bergers max recommended charge of n570 in a CA Mesa LR @2940fps with an amd tuner and it's pretty tough to beat. I have a milder load with 250 Atips for target. It's definitely another level of recoil so be aware. I really have to be conscious of my form if I want to shoot good.
What is the max recommended charge of N570 for the 245 Bergers? I did not see it in the 1st edition book for the 300 PRC.

I did the same thing and sold the 6.5 PRC. At the end of the day no matter if it's a 6.5x300 Wby it just wasn't a heavy enough bullet to me for elk. So I went back to my 300 win mag with the 208 eld-m. Love 30 cal holes in animals. For me, they just kill better. It puts 180 grain Nosler E tips in nearly the same point of impact as the 208's so I shoot the guilding metal under 300 yds and switch to Eld-m past that. Go get your 300 PRC and enjoy the heck out of it!!

I called them. Excellent to deal with. Just wish there was 3 of them to make enough bullets

6.5 PRC hands-down. Killed elk at 800+ yards. Got to use Berger bullets. 156 gr. You should be able to get your velocity close to 3200 ft./s. Look at the charts. Nothing comes close in that caliber. It is super sonic to 2400 yards on an average day.
Barrel length?

What charge are you using? I could get 2900 with Rldr 26 but no chance of 3200?!? Wow!

What's your load data on this 156 Berger moving 3200 FPS. I run the 144 and max I can get is about 3k-3050 FPS. I'd like to see the data to try and duplicate.
