My LR elk rifle, it has killed more game in the hands of family members than all of my other rifles combined. I think I have only killed two big game animals with it myself. Has kills from 160-1365 yards.

300 win mag... Remington 700 action, with almost everything you could do to it done, CA stock, CA barrel CA titanium break, timney trigger, and CA bottom metal... As I don't care what they say CA Ridgeline stocks are not 100% inlet for remington 700 bottom metal... This is really just a CA Ridgeline built on a Remington 700 Action... Cost was $1000 more then a Ridgeline but seems I might have gotten lucky and it seems to be more accurate then the most factory Ridgelines....And I got the exact 300 win chamber I wanted. Best thing of this build was the time I got to spend finding all the parts ...

They started making it back in the 70's and stopped making it about 5-6 years ago. It's basically a .22 caliber 55 grain bullet inside a .30 caliber plastic sabot, stuffed into a .30-06 case. When the projectile exits the muzzle, the sabot peels off, and the 55 grain bullet is moving along at nearly 4,100 FPS MV (4,080 according to Rem specs). It's for flat trajectories, varmint hunting, and making more use out of the guy who only has 1 rifle.

I didn't really know where to put this, but it seams fitting kinda.View attachment 124173 View attachment 124175 View attachment 124174
A buddy had about 10 of them. Has anyone else seen or shot these before? If so what where the used for why where they made. Thanks for any info you all can give.

I saw those in my dads super old rifleman handbook! Those bullets have been around a while. I remember reading that they were designed to get like 4,000FPS out of the little .22 bullet to zap varmints. My dad said they were popular up in New York for shooting woodchucks. Guys could use their .30-06 and not buy a dedicated varmint rifle!
