if it fits, it ships... my 7rum actually is tight enough in the neck that I skim turn and cut about 20 thou. short. I'd just trim them all 10 under and let her buck...
Is the 7mm RUM dead?

I have most of them at 2.84" but mines a factory chamber. Do you crimp, crimp a little or not at all? Also k was waiting to see if you have a reply for loads with 175-180 as well

No crimp... I'm running a 175 eld-x with h50bmg... I've got a short throat so the charge is down to about 7stw charges, but with a standard throat you can just look up the charges on the Hodgdon site. I'm around 2900 fps and I'm easy on the rifle; if you want 3100 fps I'm sure it's available.I have most of them at 2.84" but mines a factory chamber. Do you crimp, crimp a little or not at all? Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that there seemed to be complaints about the 7 RUM having too much recoil and the 300 RUM users didn't say much about it in other threads.
Did some recoil comparisons. Used Nosler's load data, chose fastest load for each bullet weight. The 7 RUM recoil in FT/LBs and Velocity is less than the 300 RUM across the bullet weight spectrum. Here are a few examples with a 10 lb rifle.

I have owned three 7 RUMs, two 300 RUMs and one 338 RUM. Shot those 7s and 300s without a brake in rifles weighing 9-10 lbs. Recently built a 10 lb 338 RUM and shot it without the brake. Finally found my recoil intolerance. I put a brake on that 338 RUM!

I can tell you one thing for sure , I picked up a factory 7 Rum Remmy and holy Smokes that thing was abusive untill I put a brake on it . Now it's easy to shoot .
I remember my first 300 ultra also with some factory 180 gr. Corlock rounds it was a thumper too !
Now I shoot the 338 Rum and trying to get a 375 Rum built.
I'm not really recoil sensitive I guess !
Today here in a few hours I'm shooting a Custom built 375 Cheytac! Whoop ..Whoop !
I guess this Old Man still has it ! Ha ha !!

So I went through some loaded rounds. I pulled them apart (as last time I fired them they had split necks) because was having issues with about half my rounds getting split necks. I pulled 10 7rum and punched out primer and when I pulled the case out looked and the neck was split on about 6 out of the 10. Never fired before, sized loaded and then recently pulled. R-P brass early 2000's. Thinking bad batch of brass as I've heard they had some around that time. Thinking something went wrong with new brass and wouldn't think that would happen even on something 3 or 4 times fired either. Noticed this last time I was shooting which is when I got an annealer.
I shot a 338 Rum in the factory m700 once with factory loads. Plastic stock I think.
A good warm hand loaded 250gr would be a lot more than I wanted in that setup.
What were they, like 7.5lbs?
