In the Ear? Really???

WHAT! No derogatory comments from Mr DJ?............Oh I guess he's Buzzy.....or whatever. OR may be that he got a chance to get in a little overtime at the Sewage Plant, but don't know what he does with the extra money since from everything I hear, he mooches his ammo from whomever he's shooting with.

Has anyone else noticed that he only posts pictures of him and one of his supposed buddies only a single time? I guess they just can't afford to pay for his ammunition as well as theirs. I've heard that Coy only brings him 2 each .308 rounds at a time and then Coy shoots the .338. Smart move Coy!

Could be that he knows that intellectually he just can't compete, so is hiding out somewhere......:)

Well, will have to just wait and see......

Well it seems that djones isn't going to reply so will take this time to impart a little wisdom I have gained over the years. Some of these I learned in the military, some from living to over 70 years old.

1) Never deal with a company with the word "Integrity" in their name:
They usually don't have any!

2) Government Agencies with the word "Justice" in their name usually do not know what the word means!

3) Politicians Lie! In fact, will post a direct quote from one currently in office and who didn't realize he was being recorded:

"Do you know what happens to politicians that tell the truth? They get voted out of office or never get voted into office. We must lie to the voters. Tell them the truth and they punish us. Lie and they reward us by electing or reelecting us. Like dogs in Pavlov's experiments we learn to do what brings rewards. Somehow the system stumbles on, but the pressure builds because neither the voters or the politicians want to face unpleasant truths and this doesn't even begin to cover the pressure generated by those with their own agenda's within the system."

4) Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate. The bombs always hit the ground.

5) At my age "Getting lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came in there for.

6) Even duct tape can't fix stupid ... but it can muffle the sound!

7) Teach your daughters and Grandaughters how to shoot, because a restraining order is just a piece of paper.

8) When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

9) The biggest lie I tell myself is ... "I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it."

10) My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance to idiots that needs work.

11) And finally a quote form one of the other great world leaders......NOT!
"Negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, ***** on the board and then struts around like it won the game."
~Vladimir Putin

I'll save the rest until we see if djones is over his snit!

:):)If you want a response from dj just go to the back of your house. Hes been peering through your windows for the last few days.

Oh, is that who that is? Just thought it was the homeless guy that lives under the Concrete underpass about a mile from here.

HEY PEOPLE, I've not only have met djones in person, but gave him a couple of bucks to buy some wine and an inflatable mattress in case it rains while he's living under the roadway!.....How about that! Of course if it does rain, with that mattress, he'll be 3 miles downstream before he wakes up....Oh well, not like I'm going to miss him, he hardly ever checks in anymore!

Been really busy myself, got company coming and have been trying to block out the letters on my WELCOME mat!

im tired. that is all.

Yeah, I can understand that....Galveston PM'd me and told me that the teenagers in your town substituted Ex-lax in all the Hershey bars at the local drug store Saturday and you and the entire crew at the Sewage plant had been sandbagging the clarifier ponds all day today trying to keep them from overflowing! Must have been a really shi......Bad situation!

But to look on the bright side, at least you're working now. I heard that your first Job choice went bad because there just isn't that much call for Buffalo Hunters anymore.

Well, no comment from Mr. DJ so will wander around my mind a little bit and rehash a class I took at the U of Washington about 1974 or 75 when I found that I needed a couple more electives. The class was called something on the lines of Creative Thought or Creative Thinking, not sure of the exact title any more, but it basically boiled down to the instructor presenting a situation and how you as an individual, responded to the situation.

Basically it put the student on the dime to come up with an answer, of which, many students couldn't or wouldn't respond to ssome questions because it put people into a quandary. So I have decided that Packrat U. will throw out a questions and see if I get any response.

The one question in particular which I have somewhat remembered all of these years goes something like this, and I'm going to use our thread founder, djones, as an example:

A Biological research company has come up with a 1 dose substance that increases the lifespan of an individual by 100 years per dose. The cost per dose is affordable by everyone. However, due to the nature of the substance, there are only a maximum of 50 Million doses available and that is all there ever will be! There are (at that time) over 300 Million population of the United States, which means only one out of every 6 people will get the doses. The questions are:

1) Who or what determines who should get the dose's and who shouldn't.
2) The government wants to determine who gets them and who shouldn't. Should the government be allowed to make this determination?
3) Should djones as a rich man get a dose, where djones as a level 4 sewage worker not get a dose?
4) Does getting a dose give an unfair economic advantage to anyone and their heirs over those that didn't get a dose?
5) Will those that get the dose create a totally different class of people within the social structure?
6) Should the doses be restricted to only the citizens of the United States?

There are a few more questions, but I can't remember them all.

Whatcha think? Think about it.

I know everyone is sitting waiting for the punch line, but that is it!...I know what i answered, but am curious if anyone else has an answer.

Some of you wanted intellectualization, so here goes!

In your scenario, the biggest issue, IMO, would concern which or what entity would make the decision regarding what individuals received the doses.

In our current political environment, I would have to assume that the federal government would assert its authority for oversight of the project. The federal government is increasingly asserting itself into the lives of Americans, so something of this magnitude would certainly attract its attention. Given the current administration's "need" for the US to be seen in a more "kind and gentle" manner throughout the world, the option for the doses would certainly be opened to all.

The doses would create the biggest "can of worms" in history. What's the intent for humans that can live an extra 100 years? Scientific discovery? Artistic achievement? Space exploration? Why does Fred get a dose when Sara does not? The federal government and morality are not words generally not used together, so I have zero confidence it, or anyone, could find an equitable and just method of determining recipients. (That dirty "f" word - fair)

Personally, I would not take a dose. Humans have a life cycle. We are born, we grow up, we have children, we age, then we die. I would not want to live to see my children and/or grandchildren die of old age. It goes against the natural order of our species.

Just because we could play God doesn't mean that we should.

djones, To be totally fair, the initials after the Packrat name are not all real. the BA and BS are, and the MBA is, but the PHD stands for Piled Higher and Deeper and the FOS means Full of ****! By time I got the Architectural Degree I had also completed most of the requirements for the BS in Construction Management so it was an easy one to pick up since I had already completed most of the requirements already and other classes were so similar. The MBA was paid for by the company i retired from and was relatively easy by online courses. I really can't say that they really helped me in my work, except that they impressed people that were easy to impress.

Over the years, i have also taken a number of typical "Underwater Basket Weaving" courses just for general interest in mainly both Chemistry, Geology and probably not surprising, Geochemistry.

BTW, the Bachelors were completed in 9 years of night school while working full time during the day.

In reference to your comment about Thermometers, I do hope you are referring to a Digital Thermometer rather than a rectal thermometer?

Glad to see some hog pictures and while I've seen you shoot bigger hogs, those are nice size.
