Improving the 308 Win performance

Better look at BC's as well as velocities.
For sure, I get it. I'm just looking at short range stuff with this rifle, so a good MPB with decent energy. I'll probably go with something smaller like a 130 or 125. That bullet weight seems like it would be pretty fun out of a short 308.
Thanks

You're good, just this thread was started by Badlands Bullets. I hunt with Hammers, the 180 HH from my 30-06 is 5-for-5 on DRT bang-flops. Get the 137 HH, stuff it deep, and let it scream.

Ok, since no one has anything to say about my AR-10 question, I've officially ordered some 150s. I'm going to stuff them to 2.800" with enough TAC make a Rem 700 **** itself and see what happens. Y'all stand by for results 🤣

Be careful brother. AR's have pretty exciting kabooms when things go wrong. I don't have too much issue pushing a bolt action 308 win. An AR10 is a different animal.

Here's some screen shots on the "H" 150 @3200 fps vs BD2 @3200 fps. I'd like to see either do that speed. But I'll just use it as a baseline velocity.

I'll be careful, there's so much book data on monos in the 308 Win that between that, QL, and my own (hopefully) common sense I should remain in one piece 🤣

I have high hopes. I'm getting a second thermal and want to get the 308 running to pair with my 300 Blackout for longer shots.

Daggum Homie! My apologies. What are you looking for out of the AR10?

Mainly just wondering if anyone has run them at 2.800" and if I can expect any cycling issues. Initial thought was the use Tac but I have pretty much everything made by Hogdon, Alliant, and Ramshot on hand to try if need be.

CFE223 Might be a good one to try! Check the 22 Hodgdon update that came out in magazine format. Some good data with the CFE223 powder.

I got a 137HH to 3020fps 20" 308 AR10 with adjustable gas block. Spits the brass straight 90 from the ejection port. Runs like a well oiled hammer! LOL Yes, loaded to 2.760, or crimped in the first groove below the ogive. They have a .090 ish jump. I used 49.5gr AA2520. Shoots bug holes. Like .05 MOA.

I'd think H4895 would ge good in that weight class. But with the shorter bearing surface might throw that off.

I'd just do a decent cup and core for those parameters. Heck even a 165 Partition would work there. That was the elk load for a buddy of mine out to 300 yards.

No worries here. You are really nice to be so humble but as far as I am concerned I hope we can learn from each other . After all, we both love guns in a world that would love nothing more than to take them away. I'm more than willing to support you if you ever need it. Sorry if I offended you in any way myself.
No worries on my end, I should have put a smiley face at the end of that. Again, me and the written word gone wrong. 😂

Edited: fixed my post above.
