We're really sticking with "in many cases you can achieve significantly better performance with the right component mix." Are you comparing a hot .308 hand load to a dud factory .30-06 intended for a Garand? Please enlighten me with the MANY magical combos of MV and projectile that a .30-06 cannot replicate, despite having greater case capacity. At the end of the day, there is no replacement for displacement. When you master getting 61 grains of RL26 into a .308, I'll be excited to hear about that.I say this as an unrepentant lover of the 30-06.....
My original comment was simply a gentle and jovial remark about the .308 lacking case capacity, but some of y'all REALLY took it personally and reinforced my belief that .308 enthusiasts are among the most emotional and arrogant in the cartridge world- couldn't let the Creedmoor guys have that honor?
