Hunting muzzle brakes

Actually the PVA brakes aren't very efficient. I tested their 4 port on my test sled a couple weeks ago and they did pretty bad actually. I didn't test them side by side but from experience I would bet a smaller 1" 45.00 Harrel's brake is better and it's also a 90 brake.

Another one for Badger thruster. I've heard from some smiths that max it can be turned down is around .800. Badger will say not to turn it down though.

My apologies, I don't have a sled, just the shoulder test. Can't tell the difference between the pva and little bastard on my 6.5 saum. I think it gets to a point where one brake may have a 45% reduction and the other only 40% But really, up on the shoulder can you feel any difference? I can't.

You don't have to apologize to me. The better brakes moved about 25" on a 338 Lapua and the PVA went 33.5". I would say most people would notice that pretty easily.

Thanks. This may be my only chance to build a custom. So I will probably go with the adjustable cheek piece. Thanks your help.
I used padded cheek pieces on all my lr rifles, even the ones with adjustable cheek pieces...but don't let me discourage you from the adjustable cheek, that way it can be perfect for any scope. Besides a little weight in the buttstock doesn't hurt for balance and recoil

I us a Vias on my 26 nosler and it works great. ive recently put a few hawkins precision brakes on a 7 mag, and a 6.5 creed. both work great as well for the shooter. the person to the sides of you at the range...well, not so much of a party for them.
