How old are you? How old do you FEEL?

67, 5'7", 225 with 24 years in special opns. Over 1000 parachute jumps and 2 major accidents. Until age 55 I was going strong with young women still in danger and then the body said "I quit". Since then, 4 fused vertabra in neck, 4 damaged in back, both shoulder rotator operations, several broken ribs, one broken arm, both ankles broken twice and one knee replaced and the other is a year out, residual TBI and two hearing aids. BP is still 110/70 and take no meds other than Aleve day and night. My buddy and I just hauled two 250lb MO white tails out of deep muddy beanfield over 500 yards and it sucked. Knees said no, but short breaks and we did it. Just got released from doctor to start hitting the gym again, so still hanging in.

jesus...I quit after 20 normal airborne ops. Only had one bad jump but that was enough for me. I'm 31 and have 3 compressed discs from jumping and IEDs. I have hearing issues as well. Not bad enough for hearing aids just yet. Good luck to you!! I hope taxpayers are taking care of you. You deserve it!!!

Sincerely, thank you both for your service! God bless you gentlemen!

After reading some of ya'lls responses, I don't feel so bad (or old) now! I'm 73, 74 in March, 5'10 and 240lbs. Until a year ago 210 lbs. and still running 3-4 miles a day. A knee surgery, gall bladder surgery, and prostate cancer diagnosis has slowed me down this year. I used to run a lot...Marine recon, parachuting, Army helicopter pilot, two Vietnam tours and my last combat tour was Iraq '05-'06 when I was 60. I retired from the in Army '07 when I was 61. I'm now blind in one eye, wear hearing aids (thanks to the helicopters)...but still hunt. I hunted goats in WY in October and have an Elk hunt in NM in December. So, the "Golden Years", may not be so golden, unless you have enough "gold" to enjoy them.

A CW4. I had a 17 year break after I first retired in '87. I flew for PHI in the Gulf and 8 years in Antarctica for the NSF. I came back on active duty in '04 in a "voluntary" recall and did three more years. All that that time on the retired list counted as federal service and I retired in'07 with 42 yrs service for pay purposes.

Last Wednesday my wife & I were hunting out of our tree house. I shot a 7 pointer and about 10 minutes later she shot a 6 pointer. Both DRT. They ended up approximately 5 yards apart. She is using 129 SST's in her Creedmoor and I'm using 143ELD-x in mine.
