That was a reliable report with photos, that convinced me of them penatrating was more likely than not.

I'm wonder now if the dramatic exit wound I had on my whitetail was all the petals with the base...the base exited but it was small going out the shoulder, now inside, the rib cage was like a shotgun blast on the exit side

My son in laws whitetail had a serious heart laceration I believe was from a petal.

That looks like well...but it stopped there and the base made a caliber size exit hole going out the hide

Many of the exits I've had on elk with the 177 HH have been the shank with petal exits surrounding it, lungs show the same shredder action!!
I've caught one in an elk.

I agree they travel far, mine blasted the lungs and opposite side ribs of a cow, remember they aren't just a jacket but a big chunk of the nose.

I do realize the petals or nose pieces are quite large. But I didn't think they would have the weight/mass to penetrate that far. I think it's great that they do. Best of both worlds. Fragmenting and deep penetration.

In larger calibers the petals have should have significant weight.

I've got a trip to Africa for ten days and ten animals, I could ask the skinner to collect all of the available bullets; two rifles, a 270WSM and a 338Federal

Are any of y'all using any in. 375 and did they perform? Trying to finish up a 375wsm on an AR 10 platform.
