Hammer Bullets: Worth the Hype?

I shoot them in all my 6.5's. Short answer yes they are worth it. Yes they are a few buck each but let's be honest nobody complains about the $3.50 beers they drank 4 of same night of hunt. Or the list of others things not needed. Would I target shoot them nope but for hunting even if they were $5 more per bullet and you shot 5 deer that's still not a ton of money. As for crimp I crimp every semi auto but don't crimp my bolt action stuff.

Have only taken a couple mule deer and 1 antelope with the 110 Hunters in my .260AI, only 1 went a few steps. They are the easiest bullets I have ever done load development with in 4 guns so far. No complaints here....

I haven't tried them hunting, but accuracy and speed have been amazing! Without even trying to get top speeds, I've found a gain of fps...

Does it leave a vapor trail? That's the one feature I'm going to miss with the new Hammers.

In Africa six guys watched me shoot a waterbuck at 350 yards into a dark canyon. Sunlight hit the vapor trail against the dark background of the canyon...

In unison, six guys exclaimed, "HOLY SH#T WHAT WAS THAT!??!!?!?"

Of course it stoned the waterbuck too.

Nickname for the rifle after that was the RED REAPER.

My son caught a picture of my first test with absolute hammers. I would definitely think twice before giving up the hammer trail!
