Came across this on another site. 150 Jack hammer running 1400 fps in a G20 penetrates as deep as 220 HC and runs straight in gel test. Compared to 220, the 150JH has more energy at 1315 fps. Ordered a sample pack for testing and if they shoot well, this will be my bullet

How wide is the metplat! The surface area, rounded/pointed/trunucated, ect. will penetrate deeper than a wide metplat (flat nose) bullet. But…..will cause less hydraulic shock, and less tissue trauma, both temporary and permanent! I'll take deep penetration with extensive tissue trauma/damage over merely deep penetration! JMO

Now if a kevlar vest is involved…..I may take a serious "lookie see" at those Jack Hammer's! 😉

Energy is far, far overrated…..especially in a low energy firearm such as a handgun! memtb

I dont have the bullets yet to take any measurements. I have seen how the jack hammers expand I will will be using them over a hard cast.

Trying to duplicate Underwood 220gr load of 1134 fps in 4.6" G20 for Alaska Trails !

Any Suggestions !
I'd try Blue Dot and search out loads with that combo, I have the same G20SF and Blue Dot works great in mine. Good luck Cheers

I was on moose stand this year and a bear came in close and growled at me. The vegetation was thicker in early season 02 Sep and never did see him. I always keep my G20 in camp and on me while quartering moose. Not seeing him was worst than seeing him. I carry either the Redhawk 4" in. 44 mag or my G20 for 25 years in Alaska. Sure wish I could have seen him for a shot with the rifle.
