Flatline Precision 300 NMI’s

Shot 1200 yards this morning. First two hits came up a little low. So I let the gun cool a little, came up .2 Mils and then shot a 3 shot group. Group measured 11". Still some more practice to do. 1200 yards is a longgg ways and not much room for fundamental error for sure.

After the first hits came up low at 1200 I wanted to double check my 100 yard zero since it's been a little while since I've done that. This ATACR has been rock solid. First 5 shots went into .5 and shot number 6 made it .7 😞 hahaha. That's reality though. Zero looks great though.

The load has still never shot over an ES of 20 during any shooting session. So the zero is good, the groups are acceptable and the velocity is acceptable. I'm just going to keep practicing longer ranges and get a feel for capable I can comfortably be with the rifle this season.

Which ATACAR do you have?

How do you like that atacr compared to the old March 4.5-28?
Pretty disappointing to hear about the ZCO losing zero!
The ATACR is not quite as good optically. But I feel very confident with it on my rifle. I also felt confident with the March too. I still have a March FX 4.5-28 that will be going on my 6 PRC in a couple of weeks.

Right on
I've been very happy with my 4.5-28 as well, you obviously test optics hard so I was curious how you felt about the durability.
Good looking rifles man

Thanks dude!!

Yeah the March never shifted zeroes or did anything funny in 4 months and several hunts. I feel the ATACR will be the same way for sure. I would use the March but it doesn't fit the lug spacing in this vesper with its short tube area.

It's always fun to watch your extensive testing ! Yes, that H1000 is very clean, we ran 50 rounds thru my buddy's 300 WSM and the patch came out light gray.
After all the scope troubles I save a couple rounds to verify RTZ after stretching out to ~1,500 yards. Haven't had an issue with ACTAR or TT and I'm running a 5-25x MK5 on my GF's RUM, glass is pretty good. Did your MK 5 ever have any issues ?

It's nice to double check RTZ once in a while for sure!!

My personal Mark 5 never had any issues. But I've had several close buddies with loss of zero issues and erector failures with them. They couldn't personally pay me to put one on my backpack hunting guns IMO. Glass and eye box are excellent for the money though.

Actually I take that back. After I sold my 28N topped with my personal 3.6-18 Mark 5 to my buddy, it lost zero by 2" during his drive and pack into his hunting spot the following season.

Nice shooting! So cool you access to that kind of range.

How many rounds do you have on your rifle now? Have you noticed if the barrel has sped up at all?

Super convenient to be able to shoot so easily for sure!!

I have 203 shots on it now. I was honestly testing different bullets and powders during the time the barrel would have sped up. So I can't really say like I would if I had just loaded up 100 rounds and documented velocity at the beginning and end of that 100

Gotcha, I'm at 111 rounds on mine and it definitely sped up around 80 rounds
Awesome. I've shot H1000 since the beginning and bore scoping it the whole time, it was probably 120-140 shots before I even saw the throat begin to crack just barely. That stuff is slow, but very clean burning and not near as damaging as N570 in my last barrel.
