Flatline Precision 300 NMI’s

Just dependable durability. ZCO glass is unreal and the ATACR really doesn't even come close in that department. But the ZCO's just aren't proving to be near as durable. Which is the most important thing for me. So I went ATACR.
Oh no. What happened?

I went with 84gr. and shot 1007 yards this morning before work. It was absolutely dead calm. I did not hold for spin drift when I shot the first 3 shot group. That group measured just under 4". I dialed down .1 Mil and held just under .2 Mil left and sent two more that were also just under 4" apart.

I transferred where shots 4 & 5 would have landed had I not made any corrections, over to the initial 3 shot shot. It made for a sub .4 4 shot group with about .375 vertical. And the 5th shot turned it into a .54 group with .54 of vertical.

50 degrees this morning as opposed to 88 degrees yesterday evening. About a 10fps loss over 38 degrees.

I have a 16lb 6.5 PRC and it seems to just hold itself with zero movement while you break the trigger. It's noticeably more steady on target prior to breaking the shot, and the groups reflect that. Best 5 shot group I'll probably ever shoot haha.

Not to derail this, but I'm interested in your 16 lb PRC as well. I'm looking for a 6.5 PRC for my daughter's, but I can only find a Ruger that is in the 12 lb. range. I like the Bergara HMR, that should be close to 12 lbs with a scope and another lb for bipod.

Your posts on your NMI's never disappoint. Thanks for letting us tag along.

Hey no problem! It's a seekins Havoc Hit with a 40oz scope on it. Absolutely shoots great. Got off to a rough start with a crappy trigger and tight chamber. But I opened the chamber up with the AW2 reamer and put a trigger tech in it and it's golden now.

Took a buddy out this evening to dial in his new gun (the copper impacts). We got out to 700 yards which was his max yardage. My barrel was still dirty from this morning. So I did a dirty cold bore, and follow up shot. They clocked at 2950 and 2944fps and landed 1" apart and 3" from center. Gun is shaping up to be a pretty consistent shooter.

Started the evening with a 578 yard cold bore bullseye with the 225 ELDM load. Then did a little testing with 215's and Retumbo. They shot decent so I took the last three 215's out to 578 yards and shot the 3.5" group. The 215's were .020 off with 90gr. Retumbo at 3125FPS.

I don't have any intentions to shoot them over the consistent 225 load. Just getting data for anyone else that might need it.

Awesome! I'm hoping to get my NMI out to the range next week - you're getting me excited.

Im shooting the 245gr Berger EOL's, hoping for similar velocity to your load (I'm running a 28" barrel also).

What hunts do you have coming up this season that you'll be using this NMI on?

Thanks for sharing all this, very interesting.

I think the 225 eld m is about the best thing hornady does 😁😁😁
They sure shoot! They do have a weird sometimes inconsistent feel when seating for some reason that I can't figure out. I think they're harder where the boat tail meets the bearing surface or something. I just separate the ones that seat "smooth" from the ones that don't.

Awesome!! I would imagine you will easily achieve my velocities. That 225 ELDM has a long bearing surface, and I'm using a slow powder also. N570 or Retumbo should easily have that thing over 3000FPS.

I'll have 6 deer tags. CA, WY, CO, ID & NE. And will also probably grab an OTC elk tag to pair with the CO deer, but it won't be my first priority.

Those 6 deer are in trouble!

Have you shot any animals with the 225 eldm? Looks great on paper and your loads thus far.

I personally have not killed anything with an ELDM actually. One of the reason I was wanting the 208 or 225 for this season. Gather my own data. But I also vetted out their terminal performance with some good buddies that have killed quite a bit with them. I feel like I can trust them enough to test them for myself now.
