Favorite hog gun

Mainly use my 6.8 AR with thermal at night

Otherwise I take my Steyr AUG, Bushmaster ACR 6.8 during the day

When I was a young lad in the late 70's without a doubt the only gun to buy was the Ruger 44 semi auto rifle. 44 magnum with an 18 inch barrel is a killer. It didn't matter how big the Russian boars were. Every shot was always quick when you are hunting in thick wet jungle

My main hog gun was a SKS running 150gr subs, but that was hunting over dogs (bailers) and the majority of pigs I was hitting are under 150lb



Nowadays I'm just hitting em with a 308 tikka with no dogs with a more spot and stalk approach

Just got this ol girl, 16.5" 44 mag with ghost ring sight setup. Ordered a aimpoint T2 just waiting for it to come in. Should be quick and handy for close up work!

Well went on back burner for a bit but just got a sig Romeo 5 put on I got for a good deal. All sighted in and have to say it's a handy setup

I'd take pretty much anything I have in the safe after hogs from .223 on up. Killed two this past spring with a 5.56/.223 AR and another one with .30/30 lever action.

Well lately it has been a model 7 in 7-08 slinging 140 gr. Patitions at 2600 fps. 3 power old school weaver with a post reticle. Light handy and seems to do a pretty good job on everything I shoot it at.

Haven't had the opportunity yet, bur my choice would be my Marlin 336SC .35 rem, with 200gr Hornadys, backed up by .45LC, or .357 mag.

So I'm getting my hog hunting rigs set up for this year and I was curious to see what everyone else uses?

I myself use a Marlin 45-70 and .45 Colt cowboy rifle. For more serious hunts I like to use my 6.5 Grendel but I'm going to be selling that off soon for a bolt action. Not because the round isn't capable, just because I miss the action of a Rem 700.
