264 Win Mag Man

Pre 64 win. 264 win mag westerner 26 in barrel. All around rifle deer, elk, antelope, bear etc.
Tell me about that bow…. Also, that 44 load you've got sounds potent. I had a 16" Marlin that would send the 320gr Cast Performance out at 1625fps and it hammered bear.My favorite is a stick.

But, not trying to be a smart ***. When I do hunt with a rifle it's a 270 Tikka T3 Lite.
This year I'll hunt bear with a 44 mag CVA Scout loaded with PC LBT 320 gr WLFN at 1450 fps
Sweet rifle, awesome cal for deer tooRemington Model 600 350 Rem Mag
The longer I have this rifle, the more it becomes the designated deer rifle. It is light, short, it whacks hard, and it is far from a safe queen. It makes hauling it around the mountain thickets of PA an enjoyable experience. While others may get picked occasionally if hunting from a stand, this one is definitely my go to.
Ain't nuthin wrong with an ole Mauser 98 thats for sure.Mine is my very first rifle
.308 Mauser model 98, but wait, nope...my Browning 270 wsm, hang on...my 6.5 that's it...aaah heck...my favorite is whatever is my hand at the time! They all work...make that my 300 Weatherby ....
Yep me too. My old Rem 700 BDL 30-06. I just get a feeling of days gone by and so many great hunting memories when I carry it. I will pass it on to one of my sons and hope they pass it to one of my grandsons. My favorite rifle for deer hunting is my 30-year-old Winchester model 70 in 3006, nothing special at all but it has taken a mountain of deer
Truly dependable, my first centerfire when I was 16 (1972). Paid a whopping 129.00 for it brand new! Nine years later stepped up a notch...my second rifle Custom left handed .460 Weatherby! Took a bit for Weatherby to turn it out in 1981...Ain't nuthin wrong with an ole Mauser 98 thats for sure.
I can remember back in the day when Winchester or Marlin levers with 30-30 silver tip was the de rigeur outfit for deer in California. An excellent brush combination. Scope, what's a scope? So many, but, I'd have to say as an out and out Deer rifle and the one that I shot my biggest Whitetail buck with, hunting in Winchester Idaho, well... it's my Winchester 1894 .30 WCF circa 1942 and it's mint as well accurate as all get out for a lever rifle using 170gr FN bullets. What can I say; just call me old school. Cheers

Absolutely correct about that M98 bein rock solid dependable in all conditions. & a .308 out to 800yds in the hands of someone that can shoot will not be disappointed. Thats one heeck of a leap from a M98 to a .460 Weatherby. Like jumpin from a Pinto into a Corvette. COOL!Truly dependable, my first centerfire when I was 16 (1972).
