Whats your favorite hunting scope 44mm objective out to 500 yards. I am currently trying the new Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 FFP 34mm scope. So far it seems good nedd to get more rounds under this scope. Currently on a 6mm Arc but may change soon. As i have a 300 Prc, 7 Prc, 270, 308, 6XC, 22XC bolts. 6mm Arc and 223 Ar-15's. Most of my big power scopes are Riton X5 5-25x50 and a Riton rt-s 7 made in japan 5-25x56. And running Swfa 10x42, 12x42 and a 16x42. I try to stay under 1k. If the new arken epl4 4-16x44 wasnt on a 6-8 week backorder i would give it a chance. Thoughts, comments?
Leupold Mark 5 3.6-18x44. Robust but not heavy. Good glass and really nice turrets with a great locking system. Good mag range for hunting, FFP and I have come to love the simplicity of the PR1 MOA reticle, yet it has all the info you need. My favorite hunting scope that allows for accurate dialing by far. The only drawback is if you want/need illumination. They are really proud of their illumination (500-600 bucks extra) and it is sorely lacking compared to competitors which are not as expensive of an upgrade.

Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44 has amazing glass for the money.

I purchased the new Leupold VX5 HD 3X to 15 X 30mm main tube, 44mm lens. Illuminated Reticle. I think it also has the zero-stop option. It's going to be mounted on the Weatherby Ultralight, chambered in 270 Win, as soon as it gets back from the Weatherby Factory with its new Muzzle break. This is a Whitetail hunting rig, chance of a rare 500 yard shot in N. Carolina, but usually 100 to 200 yards . Chance of a 200-yard shot in Maryland. Usual 100 yards in West Virginia, and anywhere from 50 yards to 200 yards in Penn. depending on what stand I am in.

Zeiss V4 4-16x44. Good glass. Plenty to get to 500 plus. Plus their zero stop is really solid. I've also had the VX5HD 3-15x44. I liked the glass but I don't care for their ZL turrets

Do you own one of these? How does it tract and hold zero? I don't know why there isn't more of these out there to tell you the truth. I also think trijicon is another that people over look. I know tangeta theta, zco are some amazing scopes for tracking durability and return to zero and glass but they are very expensive.
