Have you tried anything in the 170 class in cup-and-core in the Max for comparison velocities? This is the 7 max, running 170's and a 7.5 twist. The 7 mag is using the 151's and an 8.5 twist. Sorry for the confusion ha ha

My daughter shot her Mule deer doe at 200 yards with them out of her 25 wssm using the 117gr. Very impressive.Nobody has said anything about these for a while, you're all still out hunting perhaps, but I'm curious if anyone had any further successes or failures with the Cayugas? I have a 7mag and thinking about trying them, I have a 9 twist, so I might be stuck with 151s but I'd sure love to run the 170s. Stability calculator shows marginally stable to almost comfortably stable for 170s, comfortably stable for varying conditions for the 151s.
How fast does it run them?My daughter shot her Mule deer doe at 200 yards with them out of her 25 wssm using the 117gr. Very impressive.
Good. Describe the terminal performance please. Impact location? Fast kill?3050fps
She hit her in the front shoulder it had a little bit bigger than a quarter size hole going in and two exist holes coming out the other side. Each just a little bit bigger. The deer tried to run but ended up rolling down the hill and that was all she wrote for it. Really impressed by there not being very much blood shot. She shot an antelope at 345 yards one year with the 115gr Berger's and the whole side of the animal was nothing but blood shot.Good. Describe the terminal performance please. Impact location? Good job. Sounds like it acts similar to the Hammers..?She hit her in the front shoulder it had a little bit bigger than a quarter size hole going in and two exist holes coming out the other side. I was originally going to use the hammer's but a buddy gave these to me at a deal that I couldn't refuse so I figured I would try them first.Good job. Sounds like it acts similar to the Hammers..?
Can't wait to see what you get Bud!!!I'm hoping to head out for caribou in a few weeks with the 122 gr cayugas. Will report back if we get one.
Put it on bone, not a lot of damage occurs if put behind the shoulder in my experience using this bullet on several critters. They sure do shoot well though!I'm hoping to head out for caribou in a few weeks with the 122 gr cayugas. Will report back if we get one.
What case are you running these 122's in? Velocity?I'm hoping to head out for caribou in a few weeks with the 122 gr cayugas. Will report back if we get one.
