What BC numbers did you come up with on the 7mm 151g?
When I ran it out to 1100, I had to drop it from .310 to .300 G7 for drops to lign up, so pretty dang close to advertised, different barrels or the vortex HST scope could make that difference. What BC numbers did you come up with on the 7mm 151g?
Yep, thanks. Maybe you have this info posted elsewhere, but I'd be interested in the following info when you get a chance:When I ran it out to 1100, I had to drop it from .310 to .300 G7 for drops to lign up, so pretty dang close to advertised, different barrels or the vortex HST scope could make that difference.
The .338 270 SBD expanded to .440, for more info reference this page -I'll be interested to see their performance this year. Cody what was the diameter of expansion on that 338 you shot 8XX yards? What was the terminal trauma like?
7 Sherman MaxYep, thanks. Maybe you have this info posted elsewhere, but I'd be interested in the following info when you get a chance:
1) velocity on the 170g 7mm
2) barrel twist & length
3) freebore
4) powder & charge
5) seating (relative to pressure groove & lands)
6) photos: 151g beside 170g and loaded round
Sure appreciate the help. You are generous with your time on this forum.
ADG 7mag brass is good stuff. 180s in my brother's rifle, never saw psi till 3120 w/ H1000. I know after 4 reloads it needs a Larry Willis collet die since the walls just ahead the belt have grown enough to give a lil resistance upon extraction. This is a 24" supressed 7 mag using ADG brass, I am using Reloder 26. Kind of blown away at the velocity, but pressure signs didn't show up until a good bit higher up....
Thank-You bud. Most helpful - and fast!1. I got up to 2980ish max with the 170
2. 7.5 twist, 20"
3. Standard, .205"
4. VV N-570, 70.0 grains max @ 2980, no more room for powder
5. Pressure groove is .125" off lands
6.
I corrected my post - I am using N-565, not N-570. Sorry for the confusionThank-You bud. Most helpful - and fast!
Ya, I'm hoping I'm good, I didn't see any pressure signs appear until nearly 2 grains more powder, so I'm hoping I'm enough under to be in standard pressure ranges. I would think so, the bearing surface on these bullets is very short, even on the 170 it is shorter than the neck of the 7 max, and the centering ring is under bore diameter, so that adds very little resistance. These are on their 4th fireing now, and still extract like butter, however the brass has been used for load developement, not this load consistently.ADG 7mag brass is good stuff. 180s in my brother's rifle, never saw psi till 3120 w/ H1000. This is the 7 max, running 170's and a 7.5 twist. The 7 mag is using the 151's and an 8.5 twist. Sorry for the confusion ha haIs this on your 7mag or max?
