Desperate times call's for desperate measures. Unless you are just going to eat it because you don't like it.I will eat my neighbors cat.

That's a good reason to not let your animals free range, including cats.Eating the neighbors cat can lead to serious problems. Remember what happened with the Hatfields and the McCoys.
Do you think so? I wouldn't to make any bets on it.
I wonder who's door they are going to be knocking on.
Was that squaw candy made from the salmon belly. Because squaw candy is great, but we always give away the greasy nasty bellies to cheechachas or dogs. I don't mean that to sound offensive. You better have a lot of salt and a smoke house, won't matter what you kill if you're unable to store it. Can't assume that your freezer will function, one of the first things hit in our country will be the power grid. Anything larger than a squirrel and fish will need preserving. I've eaten dried salmon in Alaska, it was called squaw candy. Most misnamed thing I've ever put in my pie hole. I don't have the vocabulary to expound on how bad it was. I should have just eaten the stick holding it. My friend who had lived there for many years just gobbled it up. Disgusting!
Or a wolfTenderloins out of a Mountain Lion, it ain't just a Hemingway line to sell books.
The "Great Reset"…..hopefully a few good folks survive to re establish a more civilized world! memtb
I fear you are correct God help us!!This is a good discussion. I've been on this prepper kick in the past and believe it has merits. Precious metals, ammo, food supply, antibiotics, etc. The question is, how long can you actually hold out? Sure, you can buy yourself some time but ultimately, I think we'll be hosed if the Poo-Poo really hits the fan. Just a matter of time. This depends upon a variety of factors, for sure. Still doesn't hurt to be prepared and I'm down with that. Ultimately, God is in control. God, Family, Country. Prepare to the extent it's reasonable for you and hope for the best.
Can't remember for sure what the article said but it was way, way,way east of Yellowstone Park!!! Like Georgia or Alabama !!! Like I said can't remember exactly what state but much further than I ever thought! TribbIf ya get a little advance warning, and drive like hell to get south of Raton, NM. You may survive the blast….then you have to compete with potentially hundreds of thousands of others, in a foreign (to you) area! memtb
Most likely you could not have but you don't know till you try it!!. This was a storage method used by Mary folks long ago before electricity when canning wasn't a possible alternative!A buddy of mine was cleaning out an old barn, they found a pot with pig lard in it and was curious. They pulled out a roast that was probably 30 years old he said it looked like you could eat it.
I have a lot of information about doing things concerning one's ability to provide food and provisions that learned from my grandparents!! I never thought it would be something would ever use! But now it appears I may need it! Let's all take this seriously and read all you can on the subject. I am!Most likely you could not have but you don't know till you try it!!.
