I hear ya about the price
Lefty, do you have the math on 89.5-90 grains of H50BMG behind a 160 grain accubond? The 7stw is capable of running 75 Kpsi without showing serious signs of pressure. Been there, used pressure trace on that.. It's not really worth your time to pass 3400 fps with a 140 with rl25 or 26... 7828 will pass 65 Kpsi at about 3350 fps. ymmv but the extra 50-100 fps isn't worth the brass wear and stressing the rifle imo.. I had the pressure trace on a Sendero sf with the factory 26" bbl..
Lefty, how many grains to push to 3350 with the 7828???The 7stw is capable of running 75 Kpsi without showing serious signs of pressure. Been there, used pressure trace on that.. yup... the rifle was a Sendero sf with a 26" factory barrel. dropped charges and little brass prep... I didn't live where the press was so it was get the ammo loaded decently and call it. I usually weigh my charges and prep my brass better now; the pressure curves would be a lot more similar but the average would be close to shown. Is that showing 78g?
What kind of accuracy are you getting?Hey everyone, I knew to this forum but not to the stw. I load/tested most of the hammer bullets for my custom remington 700 1-8 26". My most "***-kickin" load is the 160gr Shock Hammer with 77.5gr of H1000 to achieve 3350 fps from my 1-8 26".
I was able to stack 5 in at around .8 moa at 100y. Not as great as the 160gr nosler accubond, but this hammer load has a 150 fps lead over it.What kind of accuracy are you getting?
I used rl22 with 140np, with excellent results, so yup, 7828 would also workHow about 7828 with 140's??
