7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

It is a 8x32 x40mm Bushnell elite 4200-- set in leopold rings/bases(the beuhlers that were on it weren't enough and were retired)

The barrel on the rig is an unknown brand custom cut to 24".
It is in a standard bdl stock with a pachmeyer white-line pad and free-floated barrel channel

The standard safety is gone in favor on a win-style 3 position on bolt-- allows for easy bolt take-down also

The trigger is standard remington (walker group) tuned to 3.5# with zero creep, but I am thinking of replacing it since the safety has been removed-- any ideas??? --jewel-- rifle basix--?? do I even need a lh trigger anymore with a 3-***. on bolt??

Nice rig there. I have replaced all my triggers to Jewell triggers. I absolutely love them!

The best price I have found is ordering directly from Jewell for $195 plus shipping.

I talked to Aaron, nice person.

I hope this information is helpful for you.

Lefty, I like the rig, your scope looks like a world war 3 futuristic telescope. How far can you see with that bugger?

I typically use a 1/4" dot as an aimpoint at 100 yards. It seems to be a bit easier to use a 2" diamond at 200 yards. I had this scope on my sendero, and shot a white-tail throught the neck at 500 yards with it off-hand a few years back. I use 16x while hunting to keep things in perspective between the rifles, so the extra X is mainly for targets.
I wouldn't use the 8-32x40 bushnell elite on a rifle with a lot of need for vertical adjustment, as it only has 20" internal adjustment. Both of my 6-24x40 b@l scopes(same maker but had b@l tradename on it at time) have 40" internal adjustment so they would be better for adjusting at long range.

Is any one loading a 175g Sierra Game King? I just picked up a box, going to go with Retumbo. they list 77g as the max load, seems light. I'm loading 79g With a 180g Berger VLD.

Went to the rifle range this morning and shot some loads with 150 grain Scirocco Bullets and H1000 powder with my Sendero 7mm STWs. Below is a 3 shot grouping @ 100 yards. Total group size .590" less .284" (bullet size) = .306" inch grouping.
I'm pretty pleased with the results!

I could not chronograph today because I forgot the connection wire for my Shooting Chrony Alpha Master Chronograph. I've got some retumbo powder coming today and I am going to work up some loads with 140 AB and 160 AB. I think I'm going again later this week and I'll give another range report after that trip.

Awesome group and Awesome shooting

Sierra makes a fine bullet ......They have always shot great in everthing I've had

I too have used them in all of my rifles and they all have shot well and performed quite well.... I guess some times I have the "grass is greener on the other side of the fence" afliction and that's why I try the other bullets...... I get over it (sometimes) and then go back to Sierra time and time again.....
