Defiance makes the XM medium length action. I think BAT makes a medium length action. I'm sure there are a few others.

I believe the newer Savage 110 short actions can take up to a 3.1" cartridge loaded in bdl style bottom metal. Don't take that as gospel, but I think it'll work. Also a rem 700 sa can be opened up and use a bainey 3b box that takes up to 3.11 case.

Can you use a 7 SAUM seating die with this cartridge? I assume yes, but wanted to ask. I fully realize I will need a new sizing die.

It has about .011" less body taper but you probably could.

the max has the body taper blown out from a std saum but seating dies normally have some wiggle room. You would have to check the saum seater and see if it has at least . 541" at the shoulder as thats about where a sized max case would be

I shot the max today in some pretty tough wind conditions but was impressed with the 195 EOL. I had a moderate load that was shooting pretty well at 2915 fps.
The wind was gusty but averaged around 14 mph full value left to right and to complicate it even more, the target was near the top of a 40 degree up slope. The target was at 845 yards. I had the advantage of shooting the 30 SM right before and put a pretty good hit on target. (top hole in the pic) The two 7 max rounds went into 1 1/2" the first try.

It took 5 moa left windage and a 2 moa correction for vertical because of the up lift.
