Hahaha it was a great season for sure!! I also ate 3 deer tags that I spent another 15 days on trying to find big ones and eventually had to call it quits. I only share the highlights

Decided to take the 6 PRC on my last hunt of the season to see if I could get a kill with it. I settled on a 108 ELDM at 3260fps as my final load before I left.

Turned this buck up bedded at 180 yards. He was quartering towards me and I shot him between the front shoulder and the neck. The shot knocked him over, then he got up and stumbled down the hill about 5 yards before nose diving.

Congrats on the good buck! 3260 with 108s sounds about right. My 6saum shows a lot of promise with 115 dtacs at 3240 with Rl23. Found pressure at 3300. Going to switch to N565 or rl26 as I'd really like to run the 3330-3350 area.

Oh sweet! I personally just don't chase the speed anymore with hotter dirtier powders. It's a losing game with very little to gain, from doing it several times with several barrels haha. I just basically give up 100fps right off the bat to have a more stable load and clean burning powder. Which is why I go a little overbore. Instead of trying to absolutely max out a small cartridge, I go overbore and run it mild. Seems to work pretty good!

I'm shooting 53gr. of 4831 SC and a 210M primer.

N565 definitely won't gain you any speed. It's not that great for speed for some reason. But N560 or N570 (if you have the case capacity) would work for sure.

@alf was getting 3400-3450ish with 105s I believe in his 6PRC 24" barrel.

I'm not 100% sure on specifics but he might be able to chime in?..

I haven't been mule deer hunting in 10 years or so but jave two hunts booked for next year. I figured I would ask to see how close I was. Nice deer.
