6 PRC

My wolf hunting buddy has one and it shoots very well. 3400 with 110 A Tips. I am thinking about building something similar for wolf hunting as well. Currently use the 6.5 with 135 A tips in a 18" and it's awesome but the 6mm is just a wicked little bugger.
I'd imagine a 6mm with a 90gr. bullet at 3500+ would be an awesome wolf killer!!

I haven't researched anything under 105 but I am sure you're right. For PRS we usually run 105-115. I have had good luck with 108 ELD's and 105 bergers. I use the 110's for hunting due to the expense of the bullet and not being sponsored. ha ha. The BC of that 110 is great for wolf country and winter conditions so we tend to stick with it and expect ranges of 500-1000.

Huntnful, have you measured the water capacity of fire-formed brass? I would think it's pretty close to 60gn of water, maybe a tad more?

I'm curious as I've been considering the same chambering as a project.

Oh yeah I wouldn't want the 90's for out to 1000. I have a 9 twist barrel coming soon to mess with them though. They interested me enough that I wanted to at least see how they did.

I haven't man. Not something I really do honestly.

Tested 105 hybrids with 54gr. 4831SC about .020 off the lands. 10 shot group to check realistic capabilities with this combo. 3230fps average.

Decided to take the 6 PRC on my last hunt of the season to see if I could get a kill with it. I settled on a 108 ELDM at 3260fps as my final load before I left.

Turned this buck up bedded at 180 yards. He was quartering towards me and I shot him between the front shoulder and the neck. The shot knocked him over, then he got up and stumbled down the hill about 5 yards before nose diving.
