This new Blackjack bullet was not meant for your daddy 25, He did serious work for those building custom rigs and many significant results will be released as this new batch is built. They have not been delivering the bullet for long either and the cost stops most factory guys from writing checks. I have been getting input on the early results and without question, this bullet in a custom rig will be a significant addition to precision shooting,

Sorry. thought this was a hunting thread.

RandyinVA - Ive been hunting in WY for 40 years with 25's &264's. The Army put me through their sniper program a couple of decades ago. I reckon i'll stay with my "Daddys" 25.

And for the record, sir, my 338 Lapua shoots sub-MOA at a mile.
So I'll ask again - is one bullet worth it?

One bullet is wort it for some and not worth it for others. You are the one that needs to decide if it is worth is for you.

If you are staying with your "Daddys" 25, sounds like you are in the "not worth it" column.

Apologize gents. The 6.5 vs. 25 conversation is long. I suppose many have success stories, along with some failures. I like them both. But in my 40+ years of shooting, can't wrap my head around building a rifle for one bullet. So, thats why i'm asking questions.

To say one has an advantage over the other you have to compare apples To apples. Comparing a 131gr in a .25 to a 140gr in .264 is not really the same. That's similar to comparing a 115 gr .24 to a 115gr. In a .25. If you scale the bullets a fair comparison would be a 150-155 gr bullet in a .264 and the heavy bullet will win out on ballistics.

Anyways I have both 25-06 and 6.5-06. Even through the 25 is ballistically less than the 6.5 it always manages to find its self out of the safe for at least one hunt. It is still a great round for its purpose.
